Excessive Sweating Treatment March

Underarm Sweating Treatment

For some, underarm sweating can go into overdrive causing discomfort throughout the day and social activities. Also known as Severe Primary Axillary Hyperhidrosis, excessive sweating is caused by the body having difficulty understanding and regulating body temperature.  Although sweating is normal during activities like exercise or in hot temperatures, Hyperhidrosis occurs when the body doesn't need to cool down.

Botulinum toxin injections can be used to treat this area by temporarily blocking chemical signals from the nerves that signal the sweat glands. This means that although you'll sweat elsewhere, your underarms will produce significantly less, making you feel more comfortable.

Treatment results usually lasts between 6 and 9 months.
